Finding My Zone For
Planting
All plants have a different areas in which they can survive. For
insistence, plant a warm climate plant in a cold
climate area
and it would not survive the cold for long. Or plant a cold climate
plant in a warm area and see how it does. This is also true for roses,
not all roses can live in all climates. Some like warmer climates than
other.
The U.S. Department of
Agriculture has created a zone map to
help us with planting. So finding my
zone for
planting has become easier.
This map divides the U.S. into Hardiness Zones.
These zones are determined on average by the coldest winter
temperatures for a particular area. The primary factor in determining
what plants can grow where is often the coldest temperatures.
